Yes, I would like to get text messages from NRA:
The NRA has once again allowed armor piercing bullets if you’re a hunter – why? How many deer wear a bullet proof vest? Now that I have your attention: let’s look at the Second Amendment – which too many people twist it around for their own benefit!
The Second Amendment was adopted on December 15, 1791. It reads: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." You DO realize this was written at a time when automatic/semi-automatic weapons & armor piercing bullets were NOT publicly available correct? You DO realize it was drafted during the BIRTH of the USA, which occurred during extreme circumstances filled with conflict!
While I don’t intend to be negative about the second amendment, many people twist it from what it was actually intended for: the right to protect yourself. No where in it does it mention the act of slaughtering an entire species. In fact it doesn’t even mention hunting either! What gives the NRA the right to just interject themselves in situations they have NO RIGHT to get involved in? Don’t quote the 1st Amendment – it has NOTHING to do with the 2nd Amendment, or it would say 1 part 2! And again, like the 2nd Amendment, people twist the 1st around to suit their needs as well – it was NEVER intended to be used as a weapon – freedom of speech was conceived of in a time AGAINST oppression, from GOVERNMENT!
